This year, midwifery students are hard at work again and are already preparing activities for May 5 – International Day of the Midwife. This year, for the fifth year in a row, they’re inviting us to a charity midwives’ run through the centre of Ljubljana.

This is how they invite you:

ON THURSDAY, 5 MAY 2016, at 4:30 PM at Prešeren Square!
The event is intended for all generations, from the youngest to the oldest. We’ll run at a moderate pace, and you can also walk the approximately 2.5 km route.”

Before the main start of the run, at 4:30 PM, together with the emergency team from the Faculty of Health Sciences, we’ll take a look at the basic procedures for resuscitating a child and an adult, and then Ditka’s performance will finally warm us up and get us ready for the run.

Why did we midwives choose 5 May?
Because it’s the International Day of Midwifery, celebrated around the world in different ways! We chose a RUN for it!

THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE! But the event has a CHARITY focus, as we students will be collecting voluntary donations for a safe house for women and children in Ljubljana.

We also invite everyone to join us from 10:00, when 4 EDUCATIONAL STANDS will be set up at Prešeren Square, where we, midwifery students, will try to answer various questions you may have had about contraception, menstruation, menopause, pain relief in childbirth, and caring for and handling a newborn.
We’ll do our best to answer all your questions!”
