Since there are many mothers among my readers and website visitors who might be considering making their own homemade laundry detergent for washing a new family member&#8217;s clothes, I decided to publish the recipe directly on the website. <\/p>\n<p>You will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>2.5 L water<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>100g laundry soap<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>3 tablespoons washing soda<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>at least a 4 L container for storing the detergent (glass or plastic) or 2 smaller ones (I have one 2 L and one 3 L)<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Pour 2.5 L of water into a pot, cover it, place it on the stove, and wait for the water to boil.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3303 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/mojababica.si\/noviteta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/pisker.jpg\" alt=\"pot\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1280px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1280\/720;\"><\/li>\n<li>While waiting for the water to boil, grate 100g of laundry soap. Any kind will do. If you buy a bar larger than 100g, weigh it out. I grate it on a fine grater so it dissolves faster and better later.     <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3301 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/mojababica.si\/noviteta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ribez.jpg\" alt=\"grater\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1280px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1280\/720;\"><\/li>\n<li>Once the water boils, remove the pot from the heat and add the grated laundry soap to the water.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3302 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/mojababica.si\/noviteta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/milo.jpg\" alt=\"soap\" width=\"720\" height=\"1280\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 720px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 720\/1280;\"><\/li>\n<li>Stir until the soap dissolves.<\/li>\n<li>Once the soap has dissolved, add 3 heaped tablespoons of washing soda. If you don&#8217;t have washing soda (which contains no water), you can make it by drying baking soda in the oven to evaporate the water (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sodabikarbona.si\/soda-bikarbona_pralna-soda.html\">click)<\/a>, or you can use regular baking soda. I have made detergent with regular baking soda many times, and it was just as effective.  <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3305 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/mojababica.si\/noviteta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/soda-e1477667847260.jpg\" alt=\"soda\" width=\"717\" height=\"1280\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 717px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 717\/1280;\"><\/li>\n<li>Let it cool. Stir several times while cooling, otherwise the detergent will harden like a rock and you won&#8217;t be able to pour it. When it&#8217;s cool enough that the temperature won&#8217;t warp plastic containers, pour the detergent. Remove it frequently so that the cap sits properly on the bottle.   <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I use this detergent for all types of laundry.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Instead of fabric softener, I use alcoholic vinegar, to which I usually add a few drops of essential oil<\/strong><\/em> (I choose based on my current mood). It&#8217;s true that the scent isn&#8217;t as strong as to fill the entire apartment. Nevertheless, the laundry has a pleasant, delicate scent and is soft.
